In Memory of "BRANDY"
from Donna Wharton
"MISS
ELLIE BELLE" McKinley
11/7/1999 - 10/16/2008
Miss Ellie Belle, Miss Ellie Belle, just look at you!
So poised, strong and beautiful. Little did we know that just a few days
after this photo was taken, we would lose you to liver cancer. We are devastated
and so full of sorrow that you are no longer with us. Your pounding tail
that thumped every time we passed you is forever silent. Those eyes and
muzzle aren't peeking out the kitchen window when I pull up in the driveway.
I still look for you.......
On your last day with us, the sun was shining and as the time grew near,
you were able to gather up enough strength to put your paw on my arm. I
can still feel the gentle weight on my arm. I looked into your eyes one
last time and memorized everything about you.
As the anesthetic slowly took effect you were able to be pain free. Your
Daddy was at your head and I held on to your body ever so tight. And then
after a moment, you were at peace.
My wish is that in time your memory will not be painful and when we say
your name, our eyes will not be filled with tears. Instead I hope we can
celebrate your life and be joyful of the memories we have of you.
Thank you Miss Ellie Belle for giving us almost nine years of your life.
You have humbled us and we were so blessed to have had you in our lives.
Love,
Mommy, Daddy, Parker and Gracie
"SWEET SARAH" Roebling
In loving memory of Sarah.
We’ll never get rid of this Pat said. She’s older, has a skin
condition and no fur from her shoulders down. People just look at her and
say, Ugh! But can’t they see her pretty red face, I thought. That
was four years ago at the Humane Society. I took you as a foster and then
quickly adopted you.
It soon became apparent that you had many physical problems but all I could
see was your sweet face. I soon found out your nature was as sweet as your
face. Everyone who met you commented on your nature, so “Sweet Sarah” became
your nickname. All of our feral kittens loved you. When you came outside
they ran to you and rubbed against you. Patient and tolerant, you let them
love you.
You would follow me everywhere, always needing to know where I was. Although
quiet and calm you would sometimes get into silly moods where you would
run, jump, turn and dance. You were a delight to watch. These moods became
more frequent after we adopted a handsome young chow named Champ. It was
almost as if you were trying to impress him. You made us laugh at your
antics. Lately you started to slow down. We took you to the pet blessing
and I cried knowing I wouldn’t have you much longer. That night you
became ill and by Tuesday you were at the vet. A large tumor in your abdomen.
It was time for you to rest. We buried you outside the kitchen window so
you would always know where I was. If I am ever lucky enough to see you
again, I will know you immediately. You will be the one wearing the full
length red fur coat, my beautiful Sarah.

“PATCHES” Roebling
? – 2008
It was seventeen years ago that you came to our house.
Rail thin, I thought you were some type of exotic cat with your beautiful
markings. You
hung on our screens crying loudly to get in and I gave up and let you come
in. You quickly aligned with the cats we had brought in a couple
of weeks earlier. Obviously kin, you just wanted to be with them. You
outlived them all my little survivor. Never a cuddler, you just wanted
your spot and some food. A true pacifist, you managed to avoid trouble
while others around you hissed and fought. The years went by and
you got older. I never noticed. About two years ago you started
to go downhill. I realized I was losing you. I tried to fight
a battle for you I never should have started. Forgive me for that
my sweet girl. You ended it the only way you could. I miss
you everyday. There is an empty spot in front of my refrigerator.

'TANNER' "Kiss the Girls" TENPAS-MORSE'
March 10, 1997 - March 21, 2008
We want you to know that you have touched this big man's heart somehow,
and for that we are thankful. He was a shy and timid one, took time to
trust, and required much patience to build that trust. But when he did,
watch out... there was no letting go. Once he made friends with you (even
if you had to start over every time you crossed paths), and you reached
out a hand to pet, you had better be prepared to never stop! With that
smile on his face, and the vigorous rub of his head on your thigh saying "please," how
could you resist? Anyway, here is our tribute to the guy... we loved him
and gave him the best home we knew how. His horse-like gallants and divot
digging eagerness to win made him the kind of guy everyone would want to
have around. He was precious and loving and will be missed tremendously.
Tanner says thanks for being quiet and still while he built up trust enough
to come receive your love.
We toast one up to the kids waiting at the rainbow bridge!! We Love you
all and can't wait to see you again! Julie & Chris
'DARCI' February 9, 2008
Darci, formerly known at Stinky, was a recent rescue from the Anderson
Animal Shelter . She was a Bullmastiff left at the shelter with very
little going for her. She was a very large breed and was a little on
the skinny side when we first noticed her and who could not notice this
83 pound dog and not fall in love with those big brown eyes and floppy
jaws!! She was pulled from the shelter on January 14, 2008 by 2 volunteers
from Countryside Animal Rescue. She was immediately taken to the vet
for an exam and vaccinations and planned on being transported the following
weekend to another rescue. Once we received the news that she was heartworm
positive and pregnant the whole rescue transport was off and we needed
to regroup for her sake. We decided to let Darci try to deliver on her
own as we thought she was too far into the pregnancy for a spay and she
was only carrying one puppy. The temporary foster parent continued to
foster Darci as they developed a very special bond. After days going
by and Darci's foster mom afraid to leave the house for fear she would
start whelping without her home, finally it came. On Thursday evening
she started to show some signs that things were getting close and then
it all stopped. On Friday morning she was taken in for an emergency C-section.
We thought things were going to be okay even though the puppy had been
dead for 2-4 days we were told, but the puppy had a heartbeat 6 days
prior. At 11:00 a.m. Saturday morning she started slipping away. The
foster parent was called to come see her and then shortly afterwards
we made the call to let her go without anymore suffering. This dog had
been subjected to so many mistakes from irresponsible humans and this
time "she" would not suffer anymore. This poor dog was failed
by humans time after time and she will never be in the wrong hands again!
From the research we were able to do from her microchip it all started
when she was sold to a breeder in Ohio back 6-8 years ago. Ten re-sold
again to another breeder in Peru, Indiana. After that, there was no more
trail of her life and we have no idea how she ended up in Anderson, Indiana
in the shape she did. We all know things happen for a reason and Darci
was brought here to us for a very special reason. It is just so very
hard to see through the tears at this point why, and we that knew her
were blessed and she still gave us the opportunity to know her and to
love her!
Darci you will be so dearly missed and we wish this journey could have ended in a different way. Bye for now, until we meet again at the gate at Rainbow Bridge. http://rainbowsbridge.com/Poem.htm
